Upgrading Scoreboards: A High School Athletic Directors Perspective

Written by Ashley Peterson | April 1, 2022 at 2:00 PM

We know players experience physical and psychological advantages when playing on their home court. Teams benefit from using ScoreVision to facilitate a professional production on game day, engage fans, and keep score. ScoreVision has powered more than 110,300 games and the number continues to increase daily. Our schools in Nebraska lead the nation in creating a competitive culture, with nearly 37,987 games played using our software. 48% of those games were played in over 20 facilities last year. Our scoring and production software continues to take the state by storm and build a solid fan base for high school and college athletic programs. In 2021, we added nine Nebraska high schools to the ScoreVision family, including Marian, Blair, Centura, Tekamah-Herman, Central City, Plainview, Lakeview, and Ravenna Public Schools. We spoke with the athletic director Rochelle Rohlfs of Marian High School about her school’s decision to join ScoreVision. Here is what we learned:

What made you feel ScoreVision was the best option for your school?

How has ScoreVision helped your school’s game-day experience?

"Before ScoreVision, we had a verbal announcement for our lineups. Now we have a pregame show with a hype clip or highlight video for volleyball and basketball teams. Parents appreciate seeing their athlete’s on the screen, and our fans appreciate having the scoreboard show up when live streaming. We also see that as an opportunity for our sponsors to be seen."

How have you engaged your students in the use of the software?

What has your experience been like when working with a member of the ScoreVision team?

"We appreciate that customer service has always been quick to respond. Prior to ScoreVision, we didn’t have any type of production; we had a scoreboard. ScoreVision answered questions without making us feel like it was something we didn’t know. Any time we have run into a glitch, they have been there for us."

Do you feel ScoreVision has increased your school's pride in the athletic program?

Marian High School is a Catholic, all-girls college preparatory school located in Omaha, Nebraska. With a track record of excellence in academics and athletics, Marian holds 62 State Championship titles. ScoreVision is honored to power Marian’s scoreboards and supports its athletic program in creating successful athletes both on and off the court. We want to thank Rochelle Rohlfs, Assistant Principal and Athletic Director of Marian High School, for spending time with our team. Go, Crusaders!
