Iowa Western Community College Upgrades to ScoreVision to Elevate Their Game and Recruiting

Iowa Western Community College is a comprehensive community college located in Council Bluffs, Iowa. They looked to a ScoreVision system to elevate both their college recruiting efforts and game-time experience.

Jeremy Capo, IWCC’s Athletic Director, was looking for new ways to promote their recently rejuvenated brand when he first came across ScoreVision. He was also looking for an updated system to replace their existing metal box scoreboards, while hoping to find a solution for their advertising dilemma. He wanted an innovative and dynamic solution to the traditional banners they were currently using. The ScoreVision system checked all their boxes.

One thing Capo didn’t realize were the benefits the system would have on recruiting.

“We’ve been able to bring in recruits, show them what they’d look like in our gear and show them our devotion to establishing quality programs all through our boards. These boards allow us to think outside the box for both engagement and events, which allows us to really enhance what we're doing and what we're trying to do in creating a better brand.”

As a junior college, these are qualities many of their rivals lack. This provides an exciting advantage for both their athletic and academic programs.

IWCC demonstrates just how effective the ScoreVision system can be elevating multiple elements of school programs. From providing advanced methods of advertising, to aiding with recruiting, to enhancing the game-time experience, a ScoreVision system is going to help propel IWCC into the modern era and beyond competition. When it comes to making scoreboard decisions, Jeremy gave this piece of advice:

“Check out all your options and be sure to step out of your comfort zone, because the ScoreVision system is going to take us to a 'whole nother' level.”
