"I could call anybody at ScoreVision, even on their cell phone, and they would answer any time of the day or night and they would help me through the process. I don't know of a company that does that. They don't have to do that, but that was important to me because most of my events are at night and I need help. And they would be right there and they would fix it and we'd be ready to go again. So that right there shows me that that's a company that not only does a great job, but they care and they care about my success.

The technology is far above the ones I've seen, but the support and the staff at ScoreVision is unbelievable.

I think if an athletic director is going to look at a product that's going to enhance their school, enhance the experience, and ultimately help them, ScoreVision's the way to go."

That's the sentiment of Dave Langerud, the Activities Director at Tech High School.

Tech High School joined the ScoreVision Family in 2019 with the installation of 6mm indoor video scoreboards in their gymnasium and a massive 30' x 22' outdoor ScoreVision jumbotron on their multisport field.

Tech High School is a newly-built high school in St. Cloud, MN. The school had been housed in a nearly 100-year-old building prior to opening the doors of the new Tech High School in August 2019, and the new building has demonstrated a clear commitment to cutting-edge technology from day one.

ScoreVision Across Campus

For Langerud, it was important to bring ScoreVision to both the gym and stadium at Tech High School to ensure that both facilities take fans' breath away. Langerud explains:

"We wanted to make sure we tied in both the inside and the outside. We didn't want people to come into the gym and say, 'Oh my gosh, look at those video screens, that's incredible!' and then walk outside and see some kind of analog scoreboard. All of a sudden, now when they come to our stadium, it's special. Not only do we have turf but we have the video board and that just takes people's breath away. That was important to us."

Real-world Educational Opportunities

When selecting the right scoreboard product for the new Tech High School, Langerud did extensive research on many different types of scoreboards. Ultimately, it was crucial that the scoreboards he chose would be able to support educational opportunities for the school's 1,500+ students.

Langerud looks forward to using the ScoreVision displays to teach subjects like broadcasting, graphic design, advertising, and marketing, and giving students a real-world platform to showcase their work.

A Tool for the Whole Community

Beyond educational opportunities, Langerud wanted the scoreboard system at Tech High School to support many other types of activities for the student body and the entire St. Cloud community. The school is able to use their ScoreVision system for anything they can think of, ranging from homecoming and movie nights to streaming outside events and even professional development for teachers and staff. For Tech High School, the sky's the limit when it comes to engaging their community through the scoreboards.

"We intend to use this not only for our school but for our community. ScoreVision was really the only application and platform that allowed us to do a variety of these types of things."

First-Class Customer Support

Above all else, customer support was at the top of Langerud's list of priorities in finding a scoreboard vendor to partner with. Compared to vendors he has worked with in the past, both in his role with the school district and his time working in the private sector, ScoreVision's dedication to customer support made ScoreVision the right choice for Tech High School. Hear it directly from Langerud:

"I could call anybody at ScoreVision, even on their cell phone, and they would answer any time of the day or night and they would help me through the process. I don't know of a company that does that. They don't have to do that, but that was important to me because most of my events are at night and I need help. And they would be right there and they would fix it and we'd be ready to go again. So that right there shows me that that's a company that not only does a great job, but they care and they care about my success.

The technology is far above the ones I've seen, but the support and the staff at ScoreVision is unbelievable.

I think if you don't have that, especially as an activities director or a coach, that you're going to be lost. I've been with a lot of vendors before and they sell me the product and they walk away and I never see them again.

ScoreVision doesn't do that. So I think if an athletic director is going to look at a product that's going to enhance their school, enhance the experience, and ultimately help them, ScoreVision's the way to go."

We can't wait to see the growing impact that ScoreVision will continue to have on the students and community at Tech High School!
