Written by Phil Elliott | June 10, 2024 at 3:05 PM

Creating new and relevant content for all your events can be overwhelming. One way to overcome this pain point is by starting a multi-media class for students interested in learning graphic design. This blog post will guide you through the resources available to ScoreVision users through the resources manager within a ScoreVision Cloud account. These resources help new LED content creators prepare and inform others how to make content for their school-specific LED video scoreboards. Integrating student involvement can encourage and inspire students to challenge themselves creatively and leave them with a sense of accomplishment seeing one of their creations on display for all to see.

Here is what you can find within your SV Cloud Resource Manager empower student involvement:

Best Practices Guide

This document is a great resource for students new to design. It goes over the best practices for designing for LED displays. This Best Practices Guide covers the topics of Tips for; Design, Color, Photography video & Audio. The final section of this document breaks down the differences between file format types and when to best use each format.

Digital Media Specifications Guide

Using the correct media size is vital for graphics planned to be shown on the LED displays. When selecting the Digital Media Specifications Guide, options will appear specific for the aspect ratios associated with the boards in your facilities. Within these documents, there are examples of the different media backgrounds and advertising options including features of each media spot and specific specs for these individual media slots.

Ad Specifications Guide

This guide provides banner art specifications for all of ScoreVision’s standard ad sizes. Your ScoreVision display may utilize any combination of these ad sizes on a variety of different layouts, so please refer to your ScoreVision Cloud account Media section to identify the specific ad sizes relevant to your particular system.

Brand Wrapper Builder Template

Brand Wrappers make the scoreboards unique to each school. ScoreVision typically offers a brand wrapper within a schools starter pack but we do encourage users to make it their own by creating additional brand wrappers for use. This is a great opportunity to involve students in the creation of unique branding for their boards. The Brand Wrapper Builder Template resource downloads a folder of templates for all possible layouts for your LED display. These templates have areas highlighted in green, showing where the design will be showing.

Additionally, within the resources there is a step-by-step video tutorial available to help guide through on how to create a brand wrapper.

Digital Ad Banner Builder template

Allow students to create internal advertising for your school and other extracurricular events to rotate within ad sequences and any of the different ad sizes for the different layouts.  This resource provides Photoshop templates for all advertising spots options available to your boards. Select the ad size required to download the template to build an internal advertisement.

Player profile Animation template and tutorial

One area students can have freedom to express their creativity is with Player Profile Animations. These are a step above the player accolades available through select scorekeepers. These Player Profile Animations are played as On-Demand media through the SV Producer App.

When selecting this resource, it will download a zip file with an Adobe After Effects template. Student can use this template to fill in the player information or use their creative ability to make them unique and impactful. In addition to the template, the zip file contains a tutorial video for using the template and the resources used within the template as it is.

ScoreVision Academy Program

A great additional resource for student involvement is ScoreVision Academy – a classroom curriculum created to help media classes with relative information and programs involving SV LED displays. SV Academy contains Learning Labs, Resource Guides, and Program Guides and Checklists. These all can be used to help students grow their skills and gain experience they can utilize in future careers.
